Is it required to have written policies and procedures?
Yes, the Policies and Procedures and Documentation Requirements, among other things, requires covered entities to implement and maintain written policies, procedures, and documentation required to comply with the Security Rule and the Data Breach Notification Rule. Along with the the documentation employee training is also required to implement them.
